Power of Now
Time to change everything or nothing at all, that was the question. Recent empty
nesters discovered an unexpected water leak which became the life changing event to
catapult them into their next chapter.
With extensive water damage requiring much of the first floor to be pulled back to the
studs, our clients quickly saw the writing on the wall.
The decision to rethink the layout was a given, but how to implement it properly was
their challenge. Exercising clear communicative steps with our client opened the
realization of how they actually lived within their space, and allowed the design concept
to take shape with finishes and furnishings.
Vacant rooms, once occupied by active teenagers, were integrated into the remodel and
quickly expanded the overall living footprint.
New-found freedom and livability manifest as the result of converting an extra guest
bedroom into a full dressing room with custom built-in closets. Adding practicality, a
counter height kitchen island was installed expanding the open concept design.
Although the traditional bones of the home remained intact, we re-designed the space
to minimize a classic style that mirrored a modern age for our client. Arching doorways
blended with a monochromatic palette of modern finishes while walls came down
maximizing the inclusivity of entertaining.
